CHRISTMAS TEA
WENT TO A LOVELY CHRISTMAS TEA AT MY SISTER-IN-LAWS CHURCH THIS MORNING. IT WAS MORE OF A BRUNCH. WE HAD A GREAT TIME AND I MET SO MANY NICE LADIES. IT WAS A NICE WAY TO START THE HOLIDAY OFF. LOTS OF GREAT COOKIES AND SNACKY FOODS WE ALL MADE DISAPEAR IN 2 HOURS. GOT LOTS OF IDEAS FOR THE HOLIDAY FOR ENTERTAINING MENUS.
HAD AN INTERESTING EVENING LAST NIGHT. WE WENT TO TWO DIFFERENT PLACES WHERE WE CHECKED OUT DINNING POSSIBILITIES FOR TAKING THE COUSINS FROM GERMANY. BOTH WERE NOT VERY GOOD BUT TODAY A LADY SUGGESTED A PLACE RIGHT IN TOWN THAT JUST OPENED 4 MONTHS AGO. SO SISTER AND I CHECKED IT OUT AFTER THE TEA AND IT WAS A GREAT PLACE THAT HAD GOOD PRICES AND CLEAN DINING. A WINNER! WE WILL TRY OUT THE FOOD IN THE NEXT FEW DAYS WITH OUR HUSBANDS FOR A FINAL DECISSION.
THE WEATHER HAS REALLY TURNED COLD HERE. UNSEASONABLE THEY SAY. I SAY IT IS COLD. PLAN AND TRUE. 32 IS TO COLD FOR ME IN FLORIDA. BROUGHT IN ALL MY PLANT I COULD TONIGHT JUST IN CASE OF A FREEZE. WHAT A BUMMER! TALKED TO GRANDSON IN SAN ANTONIO AND HE IS COLD AS WELL. BUMMER! HE HEADS HOME TO ERIE,PA FOR CHRISTMAS WITH THE FAMILY THEN BACK TO LACKLAND TO FINISH HIS TRAINING FOR M.P. UNTIL THE END OF JAN. THEN WE WILL SEE WHERE HE GOES. HOPEFULLY NOT DEPLOYED. STATESIDE WOULD BE NICE AND MAYBE SAFER. WE CONTINUE TO PRAY FOR HIM. HE KEEPS TELLING ME "DON'T WORRY GRANDMA, I'M JUST FINE". GRANDMA STILL WORRIES BUT HAVE PUT HIM UNDER GODS CARE WITH FAITH.
SON-IN-LAW GOT A 7 POINT DEER TODAY. CAN'T WAIT TO SEE THE PICTURE OF THAT ONE OVER ON MUDDY BOOTS ACRES. GRANDAUGHTERS WANT TO GO WITH HIM NEXT YEAR. WHERE ARE MY GIRLLY-GIRLS. TIME ARE REALLY CHANGING IN OUR FAMILY WHEN THE GIRLS GO HUNTING. O' WELL WHAT EVER! AS ONE OF THE GIRLS SAYS.

I AM SO FAR BEHIND IN UPDATING THAT I MAY NEVER GET ALL THE PICUTRES ENTERED FROM OUR TRIP. IT IS NOW PAST THANKSGIVING AND WE HAVE BEEN HERE ALMOST A MONTH. SO MUCH HAS BEEN DONE. THE KITCHEN IS HALP DONE. WE ARE HAULTING THAT JOB UNTIL AFTER THE HOLIDAYS ARE OVER. HUBBYS COUSIN FROM GERMANY AND HIS WIFE ARE PLANNIGN TO STOP BY IN THEIR TRAVELS THIS MONTH WHICH WILL BE A GRAND TIME. HE ALWAYS HAS GREAT STORIES TO TELL. HIS SO WHO LIVES IN DALLAS AREA WILL BE DRIVING HIS AND HIS WIFE WHILE THEY ARE HERE SO WE WILL GET TO SEE HIM AS WELL. HAVE TRIMED THE HOUSE. SPARINGLY AS MOST OF OUR DECORATION ARE UP NORTH BUT THEY CAN COME DOWN ON THE NEXT TRIP HERE. HAVE WORKED AT SOME COOKIES FOR THE HOLIDAYS. SO I WILL HAVE SOME TO PASS.
WENT FISHING THE OUTHER DAY AND COUGHT NOTHING BUT HAD A GOOD TIME WITH BROTHER AND SAW MY FIRST ALIGATOR. THEN YESTERDAYA WE SAW THIS HUGE BIRD AND I GOT A PICTURE OF IT , IT WAS A TURKEY SEAGULL. NEVER HEARD OF THAT KIND OF BIRD BUT BOY WAS IT BIG. SWOOPING AND DIVING RIGHT NEAR THE PIER WHERE WE WERE FISHING. MADE A LOUD SQUAKING NOISE NOT LIKE A TURKEY FOR SURE.

Poor Egret all his friends left him.

BIG DANCE
What a great day for us to be part of our grandaughter going to the Homecoming Dance at the local high school. She live out of town so far that it was closer for the boyfriend to pick her up here for their date, so we got to see them all decked out for the dance . Her mom and I tookk pictures and then they were off to dinner before the big evening of dancing the night away. They make quite a good looking couple with all the beauty of youth. So glad they let us be a part of it all before we left town. Hope they have a great evening. The air is cool and winter coat was worn but it did not put a damper on the night.

MOTHER NATURES SURPRIZE
WELL, WELL, LOOK WHAT WE FOUND ON THE FRONT LAWN THIS MORNING! THOUGHT WE COULD GET OUT OF HERE BEFORE WINTER RAISED ITS UGLY HEAD BUT IT SURPRIZED US THIS WITH A DUSTING OF SNOW ON EVERYTHING , INCLUDING THE BEAUTIFUL FALL LEAVES IN THE TREES. WE DID NOT GET IT AS BAD AS PEOPLE EAST OF US WHO GOT UP TO 7 INCHES. THIS IS NOT GOOD ON THOSE TREES WITH LEAVES , AS THE WEIGHT OF THE WET SNOW COMBINED WITH THE LEAVES GIVES THE LIMBS EXTRA WEIGHT AND SOME CAN'T TAKE THE EXTRA WEIGHT SO THEY BREAK OFF. NOT IN OUR YARD THIS TIME. WE WILL TRY TO GET OUT OF HERE BY NEXT WEEKEND AND HOPEFULLY BEAT THE NEXT SNOW AND HEAD SOUTH. THE TREES ARE REALLY BEAUTIFUL THIS TIME OF YEAR. FALL COLORS ARE MY FAVORITE BUT NOT THE ADDED SNOW!

KITCHEN CABINETS
CURB APPEAL EFFORT
LAST TRIP NORTH FOR THE YEAR
I SAW THESE BUTTERFLIES ON A BUTTERFLY BUSH OUTSIDE A MOTEL WE STAYED AT ON OUR WAY BACK UP NORTH IN NORTH CAROLINA. THERE WERE 6 OF THEM BUT COULD GET ONLY 2 TO SIT STILL AND NOT FLIT AROUND LONG ENOUGH TO GET THEIR PICTURE. A QUIET MOMENT OF REFLECTION AFTER A LONG , LONG RIDE ALL DAY. NATURE RELAXES ME MORE EACH DAY.

NEW ENCOUNTERS
We had some friendly visitors yesterday. You can barely see them but there were 4 deer, one was less than a year old walking through our side yard yeaterday around 3:30 in the afternoon. got some motion pictures today. will try to load them on for you to see. Don't know if I can do that but will try later.
Also found a huge hornet nest outside my kitchen window which we promptly de-activated after the twilight hours.

work work work!
SO , WE ARE BACK DOWN HERE IN FL. HAVING SHIPPED OUR FURNITURE DOWN BY TRUCK. THEN THER WAS THE UNLOADING OF ALL THE STUFF. THE LORD SENT US A LARGE BLESSING OF TWO YOUNG MEN WHO OFFERED TO HELP UP UNLOAD THE VERY HEAVY THINGS LIKE THE BEDROOM SET AND T.V.S AND LIVINGROOM CHAIRS. THE REST OF THE THINGS WE DID OURSELF WITH THE KIND HELP OF MY BROTHER WHO LIVES HERE IN TOWN. IT TOOK ONE DAY BUT WE GOT IT DONE AND THEN HAD THE FUN OF PLACING EVERYTHING IN ITS APPOINTED PLACE. THEN WE WERE BACK TO READYING THE HOUSE FOR MY MOTHER-IN-LAW TO BE BROUGHT DOWN. SHE IS 93 THIS PAST WEEK. SHE IS SO EXCITED TO BE COMING TO FLORIDA AS SHE HAS NEVER BEEN FURTHER SOUTH THAN PITTSBURGH, PA. HER MOTHER TOLD HER YEARS AGO IF SHE EVER GOT THE CHANCE 'GO TO FLORIDA, IT SOON BEAUTIFUL'. WELL, WE ARE MAKING THAT POSSIBLE FOR HER THIS WINTER. WE UP-DATED HER BATHROOM FOR HER NEEDS AS WELL AS DRESSED HER BEDROOM FROM HEAD TO TOE IN HER FAVORITE COLOR. SOFT TURQUOISE. THE BATH GOT THE SAME COLOR. IT LOOKS VERY COOL AND INVITING.
DID SOME PAINTING AND RE-DO OF SOME CEILING FIXTURES AND FANS FOR CREATURE COMFORTS. I THINK WE ARE ALMOST READY TO HEAD UP NORTH AND PICK UP GRANDMA AND BRING HER DOWN IN THE R.V. ALL THAT IS LEFT NOW IS TO CLOSE THE HOUSE UP THERE AND HIT THE ROAD. WILL MISS MY CHILDREN AND GRANDCHILDREN VERY MUCH BUT THE INTERNET IS AN OTHER BLESSING TO SOFTEN THE DISTANCE BETWEEN US.
ONE GRANDCHILD WILL BE ESPECIALLY MISSED AS HE ENTERED TO AIR FORCE ON THE 14TH OF SEPT. AND IS OFF TO BOOT CAMP FOR 8 WKS. HE WILL NEED SPECIAL PRAYER FOR THE NEXT FEW YEARS THAT GOD KEEPS HIM IN HIS CARE. HE WILL BE LIFTED UP DAILY IN MY PRAYER FOR SURE. I AM SO PROUD OF HIM FOR TAKING ON SUCH A BIG STEP WITH THE WORLD IN SUCH CONFUSSION. GOD WILL BE WITH HIM I KNOW
WILL TRY TO POST SOME PICTURE SOON. THEY TAKE TO LONG TO UPLOAD AND I JUST DO NOT HAVE THE TIME RIGHT NOW. THIS IS MY SHORT UPDATE FOR NOW.

A Storm shelter
My little Lhaso found herself a little hideout for when the big thunder storms come in the new digs. She has claimed the one cupboard that has no doors on it as yet. First crack of thunder and in she goes.

BACK TO HOME BASE AGAIN
THE SUN IS SHINING HERE BUT STILL NOT AS WARM AS AT OUR NEW HOME IN FLA. WE HAVE BEEN DOWN THERE WORKING TO GET READY TO MOVE IN SOMETIME IN OCT. WE TOOK THE WHOLE MONTH OF JULY TO CLEAN AND CHANGE A FEW THINGS TO OUR LIKING AS WELL AS SHOP FOR KITCHEN APPLIANCES AND NEW LIVINGROOM FURNITURE. FORGOT HOW MUCH WORK IT IS TO MOVE. I NEVER MOVED SO FAR FROM HOME BASE BEFORE AND THERE IS SO MUCH TO DECIDE ON BE IT ONE HOUSE OR THE OTHER.
ANYWAY IT HAS BEEN FUN. IT'S LIKE STARTING ALL OVER AFTER OVER 40 YEARS IN ONE SPOT. BROTHER AND SISTER -IN -LAW HAVE BEEN VERY HELPFUL AS THEY LIVE ONLY 2-3 MILES FROM OUR NEW PLACE AND THEY ARE KEEPING THEIR EYE ON THINGS THERE WHILE WE RETURN BACK TO THE NORTH AND MAKE MORE PLANS. THEY ARE SO EXCITED TO HAVE FAMILY MOVING SO CLOSE BY THEM.MET SOME OF THE KIDS IN THE NEIGHBORHOOD WHO FILLED US IN ON ALL THE IMPORTANT THINGS TO KNOW ABOUT THE AREA LIKE THE WILD LIFE. DEER,ARMIDILLOS, ALLIGATORS, SNAKES ,ETC. AS WELL AS HUGE BUGS THEY SING ALL NIGHT IN THE WATERS CLOSE BY SO LOUD YOU CAN HARDLY TALK TO SOMEONE WHILE SITTING ON THE BACK PORCH. I'M SURE THIS IS GOING TO BE AN EXCITING WINTER FOR THE FIRST TIME IN QUITE A FEW YEARS BUT AT LEAST I WON'T BE SHOVELING SNOW FOR SURE.
GOING TO TRY TO PUT A PICTURE OF ONE OF THE BUGS THAT DECIDE TO PEEK IN OUR WINDOW ONE DAY. THINK IT IS CALLED A STICK BUG. IT WAS AT LEAST 7 IN. LONG. ALSO HAD AND ARMIDILLO IN OUR FRONT YARD ONE MORNING. SO EXCITING! TO US ANYWAY.

4th of JULY
Some how I deleted Beckys picture so had to figureout how to re post her. Guess I did it because you can see she is back.
We had a quiet holiday with a fun ride in our MG around town and the beach. a bit cool but the sun was out and warm. Had a little grilling and enjoyed the neighbors firework show at the end of the day. We enjoy some quite time right now thinking of all we have to do before fall.
Jessie, our grandaughter, was over for a little while while Mom & Dad went out for dinner this is precious time for us. Lately she has been working with her hourse for a cowboy rodeo in August. Lots of practice. we will miss to grandchildren the most when we are south for the winter.

DANCE REVIEW
WELL, LAST NIGHT WAS GRANDAUGHTERS DANCE REVIEW AND WHAT A SHOW IT WAS. EVERYONE HAD ON BEAUTIFUL COSTUMES IN A RAINBOW OF COLORS AND OFCOURSE MY GRANDAUGHTER WAS THE MOST LOVELY DANCER OF ALL. SHE HAS BEEN DANCING OR 11 YRS. NOW AND EACH YEAR SHE GETS BETTER AND BETTER. SHE WAS IN TWO DIFFERENT PREFORMANCES. ONE FOR JAZZ AND THE OTHER FOR TAP. SHE DID A GREAT JOB. WE ARE SO PROUD OF HER.
IT IS RAINING TODAY SO ALLL PROJECTS WILL BE DONE INDOORS. IT HAS BECOME WARMER, MORE LIKE SUMMER OVER THE LAST 24 HOURS. IT'S ABOUT TIME. NOW IF WE CAN KEEP THE SUN SHINING MAYBE IT WILL SEEM MORE LIKE JUNE.

TRIP TO THE CEMETERY
WE WENT TODAY TO SEE WHAT ALL WE HAD TO DO FOR THE CEMETERY GRAVES THIS YEAR AND CAN YOU BELIEVE SOMEONE ACTUALLY DUG UP THE HOSTA PLANTS THAT WE HAD PUT IN AT MY FATHER-IN-LAWS HEAD STONE. HOW COULD SOMEONE BE SO DESPERATE THAT THEY STEAL FROM THE DEAD! I KNOW THESE ARE HARD TIMES BUT THAT IS REALLY LOW. THEY TOOK DIRT AND ALL. LEAVING A GIANT DITCH BEHIND THE STONE. WE WILL REPLACE THEM BUT WITH RELUCTANCE WONDERING HOW LONG BEFORE THE THIEF WILL RETURN TO DIG UP MORE OF OUR LABORS. I AM SURE THEY WILL ENJOY THEIR BEAUTYS AS THEY WE VERY HARDY BUT I WOULD HOPE THEY ALSO ARE REMINDED OF THEIR ILL GAINS EVERY TIME THEY LOOK AT THEM.
WE HAVE GOOD NEWS ABOUT OUR HOUSE IN FLA. THE PAPER WORK IS ALMOST COMPLETE AND WE WILL BE PROUD OWNER OF PROPERTY IN THE WARM SOUTH. CAN'T WAIT TO GET BACK AND START DECORATING AND GETTING READY FOR OUR STAY FOR THE WINTER. YEA, NO MORE SHOVELING OF SNOW FOR ME THIS WINTER.. I WILL BE MOWING GRASS INSTEAD.. SPEAKING OF GRASS I MOWED HALF OUR YARD YESTERDAY AND THE OTHER HALF TODAY. JUST IN TIME TOO. IT STARTED TO RAIN ONLY HOURS AFTER I FINISHED. A NICE SOFT RAIN THAT HELPED THAT GRASS TO KEEP ON GROWING SO I CAN KEEP ON MOWING. GREATEST EXCERCISE I KNOW.

WELL, I'M BACK FROM THE SOUTHERN VACATION. NOT REALLY A VACATION. WE WENT TO BUY A HOME NEAR TALLAHASSEE, FLA. IT WAS A FORCLOSURE HOME AND THERE ARE SO MANY STRINGS ATTACHED IT WILL TAKE MORE THAN ONE TRIP DOWN THERE TO CLOSE THE DEAL. WELL, SO BE IT, WE WILL WAIT IT OUT FOR THIS GOOD DEAL AND A OPTION TO LIVE IN THE WARMER WEATHER DURING THE WINTER.
THANKS TO THOSE WHO WELCOMED ME TO THIS NEW ADVENTURE. THANKS FOR THE ENCOURAGEMENT. WILL TRY TO SHARE SOME OF MY ADVENTURES WITH FRIENDS AND FAMILY DURING THE NEXT FEW MONTHS. LOTS WILL BE HAPPENING WITH GRADUATION AND DANCE RECITALS, ETC. A VERY BUSY MONTH AHEAD. GRANDSON HAS INFORMED US HE PASSED HIS EMT TEST AND CAN NOW BE ON BOARD WITH THE LOCAL FIRE DEPARTMENT. WE ARE SO PROUD OF HIS ENDEVORS. HIS PICTURE IS UP ON 'MUDDYBOOTS ACRES'. YOU GO KEN!
